Jerry Kelly began his law practice in Carlisle, Arkansas in 1984 and opened an additional office in Lonoke, Arkansas in 1995. His practice areas include tractor trailer and automobile wreck cases, highway construction site automobile accident cases, insurance bad faith cases, agricultural-commercial litigation cases, all types of personal injury and wrongful death cases, product liability cases, tire defect cases, and medical malpractice cases. Over the past 32 years, Mr. Kelly has secured jury verdicts and/or settlements for victims of automobile accidents in the tens of millions of dollars.

Mr. Kelly’s aggressive pretrial and trial work has been featured in articles on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, the Arkansas Times, and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. His work in tire litigation has also been featured nationally on NBC’s Dateline series. He has represented plaintiffs in steel belted radial tire tread/belt separation cases in Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arizona, New Jersey, Utah, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Florida.

Mr. Kelly was widely recognized as one of several trial counsel having tried the Schafer, et al. v. Bayer Corp Science, et al. case in Lonoke County, Arkansas, wherein the Plaintiffs received an extraordinary $48 million jury verdict. The Schafer case has been recognized among the legal community and the public as being the landmark case in Arkansas that overturned the punitive damage cap legislation of 2003, as well as the case that played a great part in the negotiations for the global $750,000,000.00 settlement of the rice GMO state and federal litigation.

In 2011, Mr. Kelly acted as co-lead trial counsel in the Lonoke County Circuit Court case, Kimberly Patrick, et al. vs. Weaver-Bailyey Contractors, Inc., et al., wherein Ariel Anderson, a young lady who was severely injured in a highway construction site on U.S. Highway 67-167 in Pulaski County, Arkansas, received a jury verdict of $17 million.

Most recently, in September of 2016, Mr. Kelly acted as lead counsel in a Conway County Circuit Court case, Elmer Philpot vs. Hankook Tire Co., LTD, et al. wherein Mr. Elmer Philpot, a 70 year old dump truck driver, received a $1.2 million jury verdict as a result of an accident caused by a defective Hankook tire.

In 2012, Mr. Kelly was a co-recipient of the Outstanding Trial Lawyer of the Year Award from the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Kelly also manages a family rice, corn, soybean, and cattle farm of over 6000 acres in Lonoke and Prairie Counties, Arkansas. As such, Mr. Kelly is intimately familiar with the legal and practical issues associated with irrigation water management, mitigation of water resources, and other aspects of agriculture. He has had extensive experience in dealing with Farm Service Agency rules and regulations and has represented hundreds of farmers negotiating sales and lease contracts of the past 32 years.
